"Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." The writer of Hebrews reminds us of the solemn fact of death.
1. Universality of Death
Death comes to everyone regardless of age, gender, or status. It is the destination of life that no one can avoid. Accepting this fact humbly is wisdom.
2. One-time Life
Life has no rehearsal. You live once and die once. Therefore, you must cherish each day and live a life without regrets before God.
3. Judgment After Death
Everything does not end with death. After that, there is surely God's judgment. We will be repaid according to what we have done. We must work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
4. Christ's Atonement
However, Jesus Christ took the judgment on our behalf for our sins. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned but has crossed over from death to life. This is the gospel.
5. Faith Waiting for the Second Coming
Christ will appear a second time to those who are waiting for him. We must be awake and sober, hoping for the Lord who will come again.
