We are moved by beautiful scenery or gifts in this world, but the emotions in heaven are incomparable. What will move and surprise us in heaven?
1. We Will Not Miss Our Earthly Life
Just as you don't miss economy class when upgraded to first class, you won't miss life on earth when you go to heaven. God will give us everything we truly desire, and we will enjoy perfect satisfaction.
2. We Will Not Become Angels
People do not become angels when they die. We remain human but put on glorious bodies. Angels are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation (Heb 1:14). We will be served by angels as we worship God.
3. We Will Not Be Tempted
There is no temptation to sin in heaven. We will become holy people and will never desire to sin again. It is a place where all causes of sin, along with death, mourning, and pain, have disappeared.
4. We Will Have Work to Do
Heaven is not a place of boring idleness. Just as God gave Adam work in Eden, we will be given joyful and satisfying work in heaven. We will engage in creative and meaningful activities for God's glory.
5. We Will Still Experience Emotions
Created in God's image, we will still have emotions in heaven. There will be no tears of sorrow or pain, but there may be tears of joy and emotion. The emotion of meeting the Lord and being praised by Him will be unspeakable.
6. We Will Continue to Grow
Learning and growth do not stop in heaven. We will continue to grow in the knowledge of God. There will be the joy of knowing God's infinitude forever.
7. We Will Recognize Each Other
We will recognize each other in heaven. Just as the disciples recognized Moses and Elijah on the Mount of Transfiguration, we will recognize our loved ones and share deeper fellowship. Heaven is a vast family community.
