7 Things You Should Know About Heaven

Many people say they believe in heaven, but they don't really know what the Bible says about it. Heaven is not a vague concept but a real place prepared by God. Here are 7 facts you must know about heaven.

1. Heaven is God's Dwelling Place

Psalm 68:5 says God is in His "holy dwelling." Jesus also called Him "Our Father in heaven." Heaven is God's house, where the righteous enter to dwell with Him.

2. Heaven is Where Righteousness Dwells

2 Peter 3:13 says we look forward to "a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells." This world is full of injustice, but heaven is a kingdom completely ruled by God's righteousness.

3. Heaven is Imperishable, Undefiled, and Unfading

1 Peter 1:4 describes heaven as an inheritance that is "imperishable, undefiled, and unfading." Everything in the world wears out and decays, but heaven's glory and beauty remain unchanged forever.

4. Heaven Will Be Eternal

Worldly empires and riches disappear, but heaven is eternal (Matt 25:46). There is no expiration date. Our joy and happiness will last endlessly.

5. We Will Be With Jesus Forever

"And so we will be with the Lord forever" (1 Thess 4:17). The greatest blessing of heaven is living with our beloved Jesus forever. We will see and walk with the Lord whom we loved only by faith.

6. We Will Reunite with Those Who Died in Christ

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 comforts us that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him. Heaven is a place of great reunion where families and saints separated in Christ meet again.

7. Heaven is Promised to the Faithful

Heaven is open to all, but it is promised to those who enter through the narrow gate—the faithful who believe in and follow Jesus Christ. Only those who do the will of God will enter (Matt 7:21).
