Satan's main strategy is to make saints pessimistic about the future. But we are pilgrims heading towards a new heaven and a new earth. Happiness on this earth is just a trailer for the life we will enjoy in heaven. Here are 7 reasons why heaven is truly happy.
1. Happy Because God Is There
Heaven is God's dwelling place (Isaiah 66:1). No matter how good a place is, there is no true happiness without God. Saints are happy in heaven because God is there, watching over us unchangingly like the North Star.
2. Happy to Live in a New Home
Heaven is not a renovation of an old house, but a completely new home. "Behold, I make all things new" (Rev 21:5). We will live in an eternal, new dwelling prepared by God.
3. Happy Because There Is No Pain or Tears
Revelation 21:4 promises no more tears, death, mourning, crying, or pain. The pain of separation and disease on this earth does not exist in heaven. There will be no more "goodbye."
4. Happy Because We Will Sin No More
There is no temptation or Satan in heaven. We are completely freed from the influence of sin. We will not suffer from past mistakes or guilt, and we will never hurt or hate each other again.
5. Happy Because We Will Be Transformed
"We will all be changed" (1 Cor 15:51). We will be transformed into glorious bodies like the resurrected Jesus. We will live with the Lord in imperishable, powerful, and glorious bodies.
6. Happy Forever in Heaven
Earthly happiness is temporary, but heavenly happiness is eternal. It is said that happiness is frequency, not intensity of joy. In heaven, we will enjoy constant joy and happiness forever in God's grace.
7. Happy to Meet Loved Ones
Heaven is a place of reunion. We will meet again with faithful family and friends who have gone before us. Just as David hoped to see his dead son again (2 Sam 12:23), we too will reunite with loved ones and share eternal fellowship.
